My apologies for being so late getting the bookplates out -- I sometimes have this notion in my head of "Miracle Jan" who can do things like go on a book tour and sign and mail out good stuff on the few days she has home -- and still do local events, spend time with her husband and dogs, respond to a thousand emails, get stuff to the dry cleaners, do laundry, go to the grocery store, and all other necessary errands and tasks in those same two days. Did I mention sleep?
Anyway, Miracle Jan was a no show last month, so I'm catching up now and will sign and get those bookplates out this week. If you want one and didn't get a chance to ask before, just send your name and address to burke.themessenger at gmail.com. I'd write it in a plainer fashion, but one must do what one can to foil spammers.

I just wanted to write you a note to tell you how much I loved The Messenger. i could not put the book down. It was the first book of yours I have read, and I found your writing style addicting. Thank you so much for the many hours of enjoyment I had in reading this exceptional book.
I admit I grabbed the Messenger thinking it was another Irene book. So glad I didn't look because I may not have read it since I don't usually read supernatural type books. This book was fantastic, I could not put it down. I loved Tyler and Amanda and absolutely have to have a dog like Shade. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time and I never go anywhere (or stay home) without a book in my hand. I hope that you will consider a sequel. Congratulations on a job well done. Kathi Keyse
Dear Ray,
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. You've made my day!
Yours,
Jan
Hi Kathi!
It's always a great relief for me to read that an Irene Kelly fan loved The Messenger!
I'm attached to the characters (including Shade!), so I also hope that there will be a sequel -- I have one in mind.
Yours,
Jan
Hi,
I checked out "The Messenger" from the library at 5pm yesterday (2/28/09), and finished it at 9am this morning (3/01/09). I would have finsihed it sooner, but I had to sleep.
Thank you. That was one of the best escape vacations I have had in a long time. I'm looking forward to a sequel.

Julie, thank you so much!! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it, and hope you've caught up on your sleep!
Yours,
Jan
I have read all the Irene books so thought I would try The Messenger and I am hooked. Do hope you are going to start a series with Tyler, Amanda, Shade and Wraith. I am a Squirrel Rehabber and had to force myself to put the book down to feed baby squirrels. I am a big supernatural fan and love vampires, so you might try throwing in a few in the next book.
It is very rare for me to reread any books. Usually rereading only happens if there is nothing left in my house to read. I reread the Messenger four times! Really the only reason I stopped is because the library where I borrowed it demanded that I let someone else borrow it. (Just kidding but it was getting to that point). I am now going to have to buy it because it is a must have for my personal library.
Just like Kathi Keyse, I picked up the book thinking it was another book in the Irene Kelly series. I was not disappointed! It was FANTASTIC!
Thanks so much for writing to me "?Reader"!
You made my day.
I haven't received my plate yet. Was wondering if this was still a go?
