Malice Domestic

I hope to see some of you next week at Malice Domestic!

This convention is always fun and friendly, and of course, I love having a chance to visit the Washington D.C. area. This year's worthy honorees include Charlaine Harris, Lindsey Davis, Daniel Stashower, Peter Lovesey, and Elizabeth Foxwell. For a list of attending authors, visit this page of the Malice Website.

See you there!

I want to thank you. I am not much of a reader but I enjoy reading your books. I worked in the airport some years ago and had little to do so I went next door to the gift shop and bought Bones. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. There are four books that I am missing and need to get and then I plan to reread all of them in order from start to finish. I would love to meet you so if you are ever in Kentucky let me know because I would love to have you sign one of my books, because of you I can now say that I am a reader. My email is r.mccoy35@yahoo.com

I am looking forward to meeting you this May at the Mayhem in the Midlands in Omaha. An avid reader and soon to be a first time reader of your work. I will be running out this weekend to pick up the first 2 books in your Irene Kelly series and probably Nine. I have a web page dedicated to my book club and I believe I will be adding a book from your collection to be read for club this summer. magenta@walnutel.net

Robin, I came back from the convention to see your kind post. Thank you! If you click on this link: http://janburke.com/mailing.php you can add your email address to my mailing list and get updates when I'm touring. I would certainly love to meet you if I'm traveling to Kentucky!

I also want to mention that you may want to delete your email address from your comment, because some spammers harvest email addresses from blogs -- the rats! If you can't do that, let me know, because I think I can delete the whole comment if need be. (I'll keep a copy for myself!)

Thanks for writing back. I enjoyed reading bloodlines. I will start kidnapped next. I already have it but needed a day or two before I started reading it. Your books help me go to a place other than here. My mom is very ill and I have been taking care of her for a while now so reading helps me relax a bit.

I could not get my email address off the post I made. But yes please keep it I am sure that you are very busy but I would love to hear from you again.

Kidnapped was masterful and I was totally absorbed with the characters from the opening sentence on. I just couldn't put it down. Trouble is, I turned the pages so fast that when I was finished, I realized I was confused about the role played by Sheila Dolson and the reason the Fletchers needed her killed. I reread the key portions and I'm still not sure. I'm usually not so dense, so I hope it's not insulting to ask you or one of your readers to help me "get it." I've seldom been so wrapped up in a novel and I want to make sure I understand every detail. Keep those books coming! Thanks.
